Celebrations are one of life’s true pleasures – from birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays to everyday thank you’s and congratulations.

I love to give little (or big) gifts to show how much I care, but there is always that stressful moment of “What should I get her?” Lolly List provides the answer.

With Lolly List, users create ongoing personalized wish lists for friends and family to view and fulfill. Lolly List allows you to follow people so you are sent notifications when friends add new items and can share or add those items to your own list. In addition, based on user profiles, Lolly List will suggest the perfect gift at every price point so you can surprise friends with items you can be confident they will love.

In a year, I envision Lolly List as the “go to” site to share your gift desires with friends and family and to keep track of theirs. Shopping has always been a social activity for me, and I want to make the digital shopping experience as fun and interactive as going to Soho with my girlfriends.

As an entrepreneur, the main struggle really is to keep the faith. You are operating in this silo, working alone on a completely untested idea, bringing something new into the world, and you need to keep yourself going. There is no business model or clear path to success, and no colleagues or experts to support you, so you need faith as fuel every single day.

My skillset is really rooted in my sixth sense for people and understanding what they want. I was in finance for years and excelled at my job because I was able to develop close relationships with my clients, despite the dry subject matter of monetary policy and currency exchange rates. Turning my attention to gifts is so much more fun but also calls on the same skillset of understanding what people want and helping them get it. Of course being a one woman show also requires calling upon my “master” organization skills, comfort with numbers and budgets and innate knack for gift giving (try Christmas shopping for 30 family members ages 5-80!).

I am thrilled to bring Lolly List to market and take the guessing out of gifting so we can all spend more time for celebrating.
